The Survival of the Gaspésie Caribou

Over the 20th century, the caribou declined dramatically in terms of their numbers and range. Today, only in Parc national de la Gaspésie will you find descendants of the caribou population that used to roam through Eastern North America and south of the St. Lawrence River. Since the year 2000, this herd has been classified as "endangered" and currently comprises 173 caribou.
